The 7 Lakes Drive - Bariloche to San Martin de los Andes

A very beautiful drive in the Lake District is the 7 Lakes route from Bariloche to San Martin de los Andes. Prior to starting our S America trip we had decided that we would cycle the 100km and camp along the way. On arriving in Bariloche we discovered that there were other treks and activities that we wanted to do and decided that we would do what the majority of people do and drive the route in a day. These photos make it quite clear why we were very pleased with our decision! The tarmac runs out after 50km and from then on the terrain is pretty rough and very dusty.
