Mendoza Spa Day

I somehow managed to persuade Keith that it would be a great idea to spend a day at a thermal pool spa in Mendoza in the foothills of the Andes! http://www.termascacheuta.com/spa.html I think he was still a bit sleepy after the 20 hour bus ride from Bariloche and the promise of an all that you can eat BBQ lunch was enough to persuade him.
The spa was beautiful with thermal pools from 30 to 47 degrees, a cave like natural sauna and lots of other pools to enjoy. We were picked up from the hostel at 9am and returned at 7pm after a really great day.

The original spa on this site was built in 1904 and became succesful when the Transandine railway line opened in 1910. In 1934 the spa was destroyed when a glacial flood swept through the canyon and it wasn`t until 1984 that the current spa was built with the ruins of the original.

A very green poached pear!

Keith experienced his first mud treatment (twice!).
